The Linnaeus University is located in the county of Småland in southeastern Sweden. It was established in 2010 by the union of two universities, Växjö and Kalmar. The name draws on the renowned Swedish scientist Carl Linnaeus. LNU has over 34 000 students and 2 000 employees. International collaboration is at the heart of LNU’s development goals. The internationalization of education, in particular courses and programs with practical and hands-on approach is important since it promotes quality development and contributes to creative and internationally competitive education environments. LNU focuses on offering education that encourages working life experience and that stimulates an entrepreneurial approach in an international context.
The School of Business and Economics is the university faculty contributing to the CIRTOINNO project. It accounts for ca. 10% of LNUs students and employees, and the education is quality assured by the Swedish Higher Education Authority (UKÄ). Research carried out at the faculty is in the themes of Sustainable tourism, Sustainability marketing, Consumer behaviour, Entrepreneurship, International business strategy, Corporate governance, and Supply chain management, among others. The faculty is composed of four departments. The department of marketing is the one engaged in the CIRTOINNO project.
LNU is contributing to all deliverables of the CIRTOINNO project. Foremost, LNU leads the development of a training in circular economy for tourism SMEs with its national and cross–border workshops. They also provide overall structure, coordination, and content for the marketing module, as well as provide workshop leaders in marketing. LNU further provides regional specifics on sustainable development, SMEs and tourism for the Handbook in Circular Economy, support of the development of the self-assessment tool mainly through revising the content of questions, and support of the mentoring process providing expertise in marketing for SMEs in tourism.

The Energy Agency for Southeast Sweden was established in 1999 and is jointly owned by an association of regional councils, counties and municipalities in Blekinge, Kalmar and Kronoberg.
The Energy Agency is working to initiate, coordinate and implement projects aimed at improving the energy efficiency and increasing supply of renewable energy in all sectors of the economy.
The work of the agency involves managing projects, conducting investigations, creating and maintaining networks and participating in the dissemination of experiences and best practices. Experience is spread through the organization of activities such as conferences, conducting presentations at conferences and schools, development of articles and reports, brochures, magazines, newsletters and also via our website. Regional clients and target groups are both private and public operators in south eastern Sweden.
The Energy Agency’s approximately 20 employees work in all three counties in offices in Oskarshamn, Kalmar, Karlskrona and the headquarters in Växjö. The Energy Agency’s mission is to support local and regional authorities to achieve a sustainable energy system.
