Description of a certificate/label:

Green Key award is a certification for tourism businesses’ environmental responsibility and sustainable operation. According to their site, it is a promise to the guests that by staying in the establishment they are helping to make a difference on an environmental level.

Green Key consists of 13 criteria areas of certification for all business categories (from management & administration to resource management and green efforts) with varying criteria within each category being either imperative or a guideline. Depending on a country, some criteria may be added and some strengthened for a better quality of the certification process.
